Kansas has more than 12,000 dining establishments within its borders – ranging from
national chain restaurants to single proprietor establishments. To encourage Kansans, and our
visitors, to eat a healthy diet, Governor Kathleen Sebelius recognizes those dining establishments
that choose to encourage good food choices with a B.O.B. – the
Best of the Best – Award.
Restaurants that earn a B.O.B. designation have met three key criteria:
- A successful passing of their annual restaurant inspection;
- Maintain a 100 percent smoke-free dining environment;
- Offering healthy entrée and menu items, and offering menu substitutions.
B.O.B. restaurants receive window decals, menu stickers and a certificate from Governor
Sebelius to display their unique status in Kansas dining as a healthy place to dine.
