Internet Safety

Using a computer can be a fun way to learn new things. We want you to be safe when you’re using a computer; here are some things to think about:

  • Always have a parent or other grown-up with you when you use a computer. They can help you find what you’re looking for, and answer any questions you have.
  • If someone tries to talk to you on the computer, find your parent or another grown-up right away.
  • Don’t share information about yourself on your computer, such as your name, age, where you live or where you go to school, or a picture of yourself.
  • Don’t open files (attachments) sent to you by someone else without checking with your parent. Some things can make your computer sick if you open them.

Note to parents and caregivers: Here are some fun sites to explore with your child to learn more about Internet safety.
