Reading Corner

Reading is fun! You can explore new places and learn about animals, people and so much more through books. Ask a grown-up in your family to take you to the local public library to choose some books, and then read them together.

Does your family have a favorite book? E-mail us at healthykansas@kdheks.gov and tell us about your favorite book. We may include your suggestion on our website.

Note to parents and caregivers: Reading with children can open them up to whole new worlds of ideas and information! If you read to your child at least 20 minutes a day, you are helping prepare them for success in school. Here are some fun books for young children on a variety of topics that you can find at your local public library.
