Job Announcement: Community Organizer

The Alliance for a Healthy Kansas Community Organizer leads the effort to engage and energize the public to advance policies that improve the health and wellbeing of Kansans. The Community Organizer plays a vital role in ensuring the success of community meetings around the state and maintaining relationships with advocates and grassroots organizations. This position requires the ability to travel and maintain relationships with people across Kansas with the purpose of building power in local communities to identify and achieve policy change in the area of access to affordable health care.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in social services, communications, journalism, political science, or related field is required.
  • Experience planning and executing trainings and events, including developing agendas, coordinating speaker outreach, scouting and managing logistics, and creating necessary materials.
  • Exceptional interpersonal communication skills with diverse groups of people.
  • Ability and willingness to travel as needed within the State of Kansas.

This is a full-time position eligible for a benefits package. The position is fully remote, with travel required within the state of Kansas.

The Alliance utilizes a variety of strategies focused on the areas of consumer health advocacy, Medicaid expansion, reducing medical debt, and ensuring the quality and effectiveness of the existing Kansas Medicaid program.
